Interview with the Pilates Instructor Lesley Logan

Lesley is running exclusive Pilates retreats. We are delighted to finally get a hold of her. She is a true globe trotter, working on inspiring and empowering people to practice Pilates around the world. 

Here is an interview with the amazing woman and Pilates instructor, Lesley Logan.

1. WHO IS LESLEY LOGAN?

I’m a Pilates instructor, Fitness business coach, and lover of life. My husband is my best friend, our dogs Gaia and Bayon are our babies. I am so grateful that he and I work together and travel together. And, I count down the days until I get to go back to my retreat house in Siem Reap, Cambodia. 

2. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE MOTTO?

Wow! one motto! I can’t honestly say I have one life motto. But, I try to remind myself and others everyday that “you are the only person who can do what you do the way you do it. So, go and do it!”  And, as of right now I listen to Ciara’s “Level Up” and someone else’s song “Glorious” every morning to start the day!

3. WHAT ARE YOU EXTRA CURIOUS ABOUT RIGHT NOW?

Mindfulness. I am currently studying it at UCLA and hoping to go through their training so I can help pass it on to others. 

4. WHAT IS A BEAUTIFUL BODY TO YOU?

One that moves with confidence. I am blessed to get to travel all over the world and the one thing that catches my eye is a human who walks with confidence. It’s striking, stunning and inspiring! 

5. WHAT IS PILATES TO YOU?

A strength based workout that helps me do more of what I love more effectively!

6. WHAT IS THE PERFECT PILATES OUTFIT?

One that allows me to do a the full Reformer or Mat workout without getting in the way. I love being able to go from Overhead to Coordinator without having to adjust my shirt that rolled up. Or, do Control balance off without my shirt draping in my face. And, anything that helps me slide in and out of Semi-Circle is a win!

7. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PILATES MOVES?

I’ll Row any day and every day! Jackknife, yes please! I also love Upstretch combo, Stomach Massage, Snake and Twist and I’m practicing the jumping stomach on the Ladder Barrel and Handstand. But, I am most excited to work on my push-up handles!

8. IN YOUR OPINION, WHY IS PILATES SUCH A GOOD WORKOUT?

As I mentioned above Pilates helps you do more of what you love. To me, it’s not Pilates vs ____ it’s Pilates and ____. It truly makes you better at all the other things you want to do in life!

9. WHAT CAN ONE EXPECT WHEN JOINING YOUR STUDIO?

When you join my online classes you can expect solid weekly classes that will rock your Pilates workout, challenge what you already know, depend your connections and keep you moving. Pilates is a workout and so no matter your level we will always move from one thing to the next. You get to choose the adventure! 

10. WHAT IS POWER TO YOU?

Power is something that we all have inside of us. And, should be used to help empower others. Because when we do that we all rise together! 

11. ANY UPCOMING PILATES EVENTS?

In person: Maui Pilates retreat August 3rd-7th  and Siem Reap, Cambodia September 1st-6th  and once a month I offer a 45 min mat class and 45 min q &a for only 6 people!
