We met with Jaime White, co-founder of Pure Body Teacher Training. It’s hard not to get impressed by her wanderlust and will power to help people live their best life through Pilates.
To us she is a brave and adventurous person who has an eye for tailoring Pilates to individual needs.
1. WHO IS JAIME WHITE?
I am a Pilates and Functional Trainer that spends most of my time now teaching new instructors, providing continuing education and mentoring online. For the last 18 years I have worked with clients rehabbing injuries, get into peak shape or with professional athletes for their specific sport.
I am super passionate about Pilates, movement education and love the outdoors. Beyond exercise and nature I sit on the board for a non-profit that works with diversity, equity and inclusion for the outdoor and conservation industry. I get excited about the little things in life and try to see each day as an adventure and explore either new surroundings or ways I can grow as a person.
2. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE MOTTO?
In no specific order, I live by those three life mottos:
1. Be the change you wish to see in the world.
2. Do the things that make you feel alive.

3. WHAT ARE YOU EXTRA CURIOUS ABOUT RIGHT NOW?
Scandinavian history and culture. I fell in love with Sweden and Scandinavia last year on a big trip and absolutely love it there and can’t wait for it to be home.
4. WHAT IS A BEAUTIFUL BODY TO YOU?
A body that is connected to it’s mind and spirit. There is a grace that happens in the body when those things are connected.
5. WHAT IS PILATES TO YOU?
An unbelievable exercise method that helps bodies become more in balanced. Pilates can be tailored for any body, injured or very athletic. It is a full body workout always that uniformly develops and reinforces inherent movement patterns that help us decrease degeneration and increase our ability to move more efficiently.
6. WHAT IS THE PERFECT PILATES OUTFIT?
I am picky about fabric, it’s gotta be breathable, thinner but not see through and open at shoulders and arms.
7. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PILATES MOVES?
Crazy but the hundred because there are so many options within it. I also love the teaser, swan and shoulder bridge.
8. IN YOUR OPINION, WHY IS PILATES SUCH A GOOD WORKOUT?
Because it allows you to work your entire body in a balanced way and challenges all planes of movement and helps develop strength, flexibility and coordination for other physical activities.
9.WHAT CAN ONE EXPECT WHEN JOINING YOUR PILATES TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM?
Teachers will learn and evolve through a fully comprehensive program on all apparatus and be able to confidently and effectively teach beginner to advanced level on any apparatus.
Pure Body students learn mechanics of each of the exercises as well as how to work with clients with various injuries and limitations and how to progress clients to optimum health and condition.
We blend Classical Pilates with modern movement science and add some fantastic contemporary variations.

Power to me is bravery, it is knowing yourself, showing up and having the strength to overcome fears to live your best life.
